Our favourite breath for Anxiety

Our mission is to make a Shift towards better mental health for young people and educators.

 

We know how hard it can be to go back to school for anyone after a break. Some young people don't like being at home, and some don't like being at school.  And teachers may feel the same. 


Anxiety and worry is not inherently bad, but can over time become a negative way of thinking. 

 

So, one amazing way to Shift how we are feeling is through the breath. 

 

The physiological sigh (30 second practice)

1. Take a seat or stand

2. Relax your face, eyes, jaw and tongue

3. Take a long breath in, then a short, sharp breath in through the nose

4. Breathe out all at once

5. Repeat 2-3 times

And yes, you can teach this to your students!
