Meet Claire

Summary of yoga background:

Shift Ambassador. Completed Children’s Yoga Training with trauma informed focus.

Currently studying with the Special Yoga Company to learn how to teach Yoga for children with Autism and ADHD.

I work for Shift and the Calm club delivering and planning yoga in schools and conferences.

Claire’s Story:

I found yoga in my 30’s and found it a great help to me during a difficult time in my life – the ability to calm and take control of my emotions through breath work is something I adore and something I use daily. In 2021 I started the Shift Ambassador and started to teach yoga in the school I worked in.  The way the children embraced yoga and the calmness I saw in them after the class gave me the desire to want to teach more children and give them tools to help them manage their emotions, so my journey with Shift and the Calm Club started.

Yoga Strengths:

My calm, relaxed voice, when I listen back to it, it doesn’t sound like me.  I love to have fun. There is so much seriousness in children’s lives and so much pressure on them. I bring a state of fun to my classes.

Interesting Facts:

My favourite time of year is Autumn, I love the changes in the trees and all the amazing colours. I wish I could draw, more than a stickman.  A perfect afternoon would be a cosy blanket and good jigsaw puzzle.

Why are you passionate about being on the Shift Team?

I want to work with a team that has the same vision and goals as me.  I want to bring yoga into schools, change its perception and teach children how it's ok to feel any emotion and give them tools to deal with them.  Something we could all benefit from learning.
