Meet Annet
Summary of yoga background:
500hr yoga teacher. Global Play Trainer. Dance Teacher & Choreographer. ‘Fitsteps’ instructor. Primary yoga experience.
Annet’s Story:
I thrive on the integrated practices of Yoga and welcome the deepening awareness of my mind, body and soul through these practices. I am dedicated to helping people flourish with their Well-Being, and feel connected to themselves and others, through Yoga. I want people to know and see and feel inside their bodies, hearts and minds, the magic and wisdom of Yoga. The magic and wisdom of an awakened human life. As we bring our presence to our sense of interconnection and interdependence with all things, my hope is that our practices serve and activate us not just as individuals but ultimately so that we can be of service to our loved ones, our neighbours, all those in our lives, our communities, the wider world collective and the Earth.
Yoga Strengths:
I embrace modern Yoga tethered to the ancient teachings. In addition to Hatha and Vinyasa style of Yoga, I teach RasaYoga - weaving asana, mantra, mudra, pranayama, meditation and tantric philosophy in this class. I also enjoy weaving the spirit of play, self-care and creative expression into my classes.
Interesting Facts:
I discovered Yoga when I was 15 years old in Jamaica through a book that was passed onto me and immediately dove into teaching myself and learning the practices in the book. I was fascinated by the effects on my body and mind. I continued to self-teach & dedicated myself to home practice for many years until I completed my first teacher-training becoming a Yoga Alliance-registered teacher in 2016.
Why are you passionate about being on the Shift Team?
Prior to taking part in the Shift Well-Being Ambassadors Programme, I worked with Robin in delivering a Yoga Session. Our openness & connection created a beautiful class. I enjoy collaborations and working together with other colleagues. I seek to guide and inspire people from all walks of life in these Yoga practices that help them unite body, breath, mind and heart… to tap into the liberation that comes when we connect deeply to ourselves, those around us and the collective whole.
