What are the benefits of 1:1 yoga?

1:1 yoga is when you work one to one with a yoga instructor in a private lesson, a bit like if you were to get a personal trainer at the gym! It means that you can tailor make your practice to suit you and explore the areas of yoga you are most interested in.

In a 1:1 lesson the yoga instructor can 100% focus on you, your needs and interests in yoga and adapt their approach and the tools and techniques they share with you to create a bespoke lesson plan. This is particularly useful if you are recovering from any injuries, the instructor will be able to design a lesson plan to help support the area of injury and avoid poses that may not be safe for you to practice and they will be able to show you variations of poses that may be more suitable.

A 1:1 is also useful to if you want to develop your specific interests in poses or techniques. Your Shift coach can break down challenging poses or techniques such as arm balances. Or perhaps you want to learn a bit more about yoga philosophy, breath work or mindfulness and how to apply practices to specific challenges in your life and deepen your practice.

Perhaps you learn best by being able to ask questions and have a chat and a laugh with your instructor, in a 1-1 you don’t have to worry about anyone else and can talk as much or as little as you like!
